Mark Rosner, Founder & CEO
Mark Rosner was born in 1967 in the town of New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. His interest in music began at 13 when he learned how to play the bass guitar then later expanded to be multi-instrumental with a core of guitar and piano. Eventually, as a lot of musicians do, he started to play in bands and it grew into song-writing and recording. This was Mark’s life, full time throughout his twenties and thirties. As Mark hit the age of 40, he experienced a change in focus, growing as musicians often do into the business side of music production and marketing. Almost simultaneously, the music business he grew up with was experiencing upheavals as Records, Cassettes and CDs moved to online file formats and streaming due to the introduction and growth of the world wide web. The revenue generation models he learned throughout his career where you worked hard, found a label and they marketed you were no longer relevant. In 2011 Mark began to entertain the idea of managing artists. He had a particular interest in being “part of the solution” and there was no doubt at that time, the entire business was changing and no one really knew what old ways would die off and new opportunities rise.
The Birth of Big Records
An idea began to form in Mark’s mind to start a management company that acted as a service, rather than the old model of “control based” Record Label that were not artist friendly. This journey of building services and a team of professionals worldwide that could serve artists with big label services but set up to allow artists to remain fully independent, was not without its challenges. Jumping forward to 2023, Mark has since built this concept to a team of 20 professionals and countless agreements and partnerships throughout the world and called it “Big Records”. Our team is the best in the world and offers all the services and connections an artist could ever want. Mark is also creator and executive producer of his own reality TV show, coming to television networks around the world called “RiseUP TV” it tells the road stories of musicians and behind the scenes footage of life on the road in many places around the world. Going forward, our mission is to provide affordable and quality services and relationships for artists regionally, nationally and internationally. The internet can be a lonely place, but with Big Records, artists will find a family of people to help them grow their careers in any way they want and give the best service possible from our caring team.
